Album Notes
TOKEN ANGEL was originally developed by Sharon Benson and Sheryl Olson, after a project they had been working on together needed to change direction. As soon as this was realized, they were catapulted into an inventive phase of writing. Combining their notably different styles produced a distinctively fresh class of music and lyrics. With the passing of several months and an incredible amount of newly created material, they began the search for other gifted personalities. Shortly thereafter, Debra Billingsley came to join them. When her own style and talent was added, a magical trilogy was born. To succeed in bringing this innovative team to it's entirety, the quest continued. Finally, Dana Lewis and Tracey Brown arrived. The band was now formed. With the unity of these five women, came an energy so great, it could not be contained. The unique diversity of their musical backgrounds sets the foundation for an exciting performance of unpredictable enchantment.

SHARON BENSON - Vocals, Violin, Viola, Mandolin, Piano
SHERYL OLSON - Vocals, Guitar, Bass

"Unusual, well constructed melodies are the foundation of their sound, and their songs range from foot tappy up beat to beautiful haunting ballads."

Valley Java Magazine

"Benson is a born performer. Her exuberant presence lights up the room. Benson gives it all she's got and then some - movin' and groovin'; encouraging audience participation and commanding undivided attention. Sharon Benson and friends put on a classy show, full of fun and memorable tunes . . ."

Neil E. Gorov
Music Connection Magazine

"Benson is a fine singer who writes interesting, well crafted tunes."

James E. Fowler
L.A. Times "Calendar"

"They seem to ignite the same ecstatic passion "out there" that they put into their own work. Especially when lead singer, Sharon, leaps off the stage playing a solo on her cordless electric violin during the song . . ."

Melany T. Ballard

"Benson's vocals were electric . . . her harmonies blended perfectly... Benson also played an expressive violin, exhibiting a wide range of licks . . . (her) haunting violin lines completed the mood."

Sara Miller
The Best Kept Secret in LA's Acoustic Music Scene

"Benson plays incredible, soulful violin, viola, and mandolin that add a sensual quality . . ."
