Album Notes
Tombigbee was named in the deep south and hails from Montana. It's upright bass, violin, banjo, harmonica, and voice. Because there's no guitar, there's space.

Some of it is straight ahead Americana, as the instrumentation suggests. But it's more than that. There are Latin bass lines behind spooky banjo riffs. There's a Tom Waits vibe right up next to minor bluegrass. And a lot of it is blues, but not Chicago, not Delta. But mostly it sits right in that indie singer-songwriter spot - the instruments are acoustic country, but they needn't be.

John Dendy is the engine of Tombigbee, and the engineer. He writes and sings the words, and plays upright bass and harmonica. John is joined by Karen Newlon on violin and harmonies and Zach Owen on banjo. Dendy and Owen write the music.

Tombigbee reunited to make this record. This product is what Tombigbee is. They are these songs and tunes.
