ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
What seems like an unlikely collaboration was completely natural for world artist and bouzouki master, Beth Patterson, and horror rockers, Tomb of Nick Cage. Friends for decades with a shared love of dark humor and rock 'n' roll, Beth crafted the idea to do a cover of "U Stink But I Love You" and it was instant lightning.

Recorded, Mixed and Mastered by Lewis D'Aubin at COG Secret Lab. Additional backing vocals provided by Lewis D'Aubin, Taylor Suarez and Jeannine Flores.

The song originally appears on "Billy and the Boingers Bootleg" in the collection of the comic strip series Bloom County by Berkeley Breathed, published in 1987. Prior to publication, Breathed announced a contest to solicit original song submissions as if written by or for the in-comic heavy metal rock group, "Billy and the Boingers." The second-place winner, "U-Stink-But-I-♥-U," was on the B-side. "U-Stink-But-I-♥-U" was performed by New Jersey hardcore band Mucky Pup.

About Tomb of Nick Cage:
An engaging and theatrical Horror Rock / New Wave, Metal and Deathrock band from New Orleans. Inspired by the mysterious Tomb of Nicolas Cage that now sits in historic St. Louis #1, they began to wonder if there were secrets behind this mysterious pyramid, and began to speculate on its strange origin. This led them down a path we never expected - filled with conspiracy theories, horror and secret societies as old as time itself. Over the last several years and two decades later they have continued their pursuit of the all things Fortean, mysterious, supernatural and hidden.

About Beth Patterson:
Beth Patterson was born in a swamp. Okay, more accurately, she was born in a hospital near a swamp, but that’s close enough to romanticize the origin of this Lafayette, Louisiana native. Described by audiences as “a cross between a cobra and a puppy,” multi-instrumentalist Beth Patterson is foremost a player of the eight- and ten-stringed Irish bouzoukis (adaptations of a traditional Greek instrument). Known for her razor wit and musical versatility, her performances are chock-full of drive, savage energy, and passion, laced with humor and rapport with her listeners, dishing out an eclectic repertoire of original and traditional songs. She integrates her quirky, progressive sound with Celtic music and other ethnic styles, resulting in her own sound she dubs “SWAP” (Songwriter/World/Acoustic/Progressive).
