ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The original Bluesman with a Minivan, Tom "T-Buck" Buckmiller enlisted Matt Woods (www.mattwoodsmusic.com) as producer and primary guitarist. Together they created a blues record for the blues fan! This record features several of the blues styles that influenced Tom in his development as a blues man.

Tom Buckmiller grew up in south-central South Dakota and in high school worked as a radio DJ for KWYR am/fm where he developed a love for music. Tom learned to play guitar so he could play in church, but quickly found other uses for his guitar...including entertaining crowds with rock and roll and the blues.

As a bluesman in Des Moines, Tom plays with Jimmy the Weasel and fronts Tom Buckmiller and the Tone Tailors, who recently took 2nd place in the Iowa Blues Challenge Finals.

This record features Iowa Blues Hall of Famers: Dwight Dario, Bob Pace, Scot Sutherland, Heath Alan Pattschull and others.

Tom teaches a blues class at Drake University. In that class Tom brings in some of the best local blues players (including Bob Pace, Matt Woods, Rob Lumbard, Dwight Dario and others) and takes the class to a local blues club and a recording studio.
The purpose of the class is to connect college students with the local blues community to "help keep the blues alive."

Tom is the general editor of three books written by his blues class that features local blues players and local blues fans and are available on Amazon:

~Life in the Key of Em: Learning about the Blues,
~At the Crossroads: Conversations about the Blues,
~Life after Blues on Grand: Finding the Blues in Des Moines,
