ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Fresh off his debut masterpiece "How Do You Think I Feel?" Indy power pop artist Tom Dearing met New York producer Benjy King. A master arranger, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Benjy takes Tom's sparse, punchy electric guitar sound and gives it a sophisticated piano vibe! The result: "Meet Mr. New Year".........Michael Franks meets Elvis Costello.........XTC meets Steely Dan........meets Michael Buble' ....meets Tom Dearing. Recorded in November 2010 at Red Rock Recording Studio in the Poconos PA with engineer Kent Heckman, this record features Benjy's former bandmates (Patty Smyth and Scandal) Keith Mack (guitar), Eran Asias (drums) and Tom Welsch (bass). Dearing proves once again his knack for innovative chord changes and strong (often surprising) melodies... and always with lyrics worth listening to. Smart modern pop songs - part Uptempo piano grooves and part jangly guitars.....smooth vocals with a virtuoso, live sounding band. You won't be skipping tracks..........Enjoy!
