Album Notes
Early on,  Tom & Sandy came to the understanding that no one can be what Les and Mary were to the music world.  Their incomparable sound and talents were immense . The only way to approach what Les and Mary did was to study by living in their shoes.  Tom meet Les in the early sixties when Les came to see Tom and his Sister Susan emulate the Les Paul and Mary act. This was the beginning of Tom becoming a friend of Les, which made for many enjoyable hours of talking shop. Tom, was  making his own guitar pickups circuits and guitars, this is what  drew both men together.  Also making Tom one of Les' closest friends. Eventually, Tom also did lots work on Les' personal instruments, which in turn got Tom the job of performance engineer when Les came out of retirement. This lead to working with Les for the past forty five years.

To come to a true and authentic approach of how Les & Mary did what they did , one must look at every detail of the famous duo and how they progressed from the mid forties doing radio shows, and later making hit records. Tom was able to assess and analyze Les Pauls sound  through the years by doing many experiments.  Only thing missing was the voice.  Having someone an equal and partner who could sing at the level of Mary Ford wouldn't be easy to find. In comes Sandy Cory who always loved this type of music. She asked if Tom would teach her some standards and expressed that she would love to do some Les Paul & Mary Ford hit's. That was the magic and icing on the cake for this album.
