“What do you do when the love that you have
Leaves you so empty inside
Do you smile that pretend
that love will never end
When your heart knows you’re living a lie

Lying beside you in the still of the night
We whisper our eternal love
But I can’t fall asleep with the secrets I keep
Tell me, is this all we’re dreaming of

We’ve been together for oh so long
I can’t believe that our love was wrong
Maybe it’s better to be on your own
Than lonely with someone I love

What do you say when the love fades away
It’s like retreating tide
Is it part of life’s scheme
Or just broken dreams
When each day now it’s harder to hide

Now I feel so alone my heart yearns to be free
But I just can’t walk out that door
There’s no way to explain
How pleasure’s now pain
But baby somewhere there’s got to be more

We’ve been together for so long
I can’t believe that our love was wrong
Maybe it’s better to be on your own
Than lonely with someone I love

We’ve been together for oh so long
I can’t believe that our love was wrong
Maybe it’s better to be on your own
Than lonely with someone I love…”
