Album Notes
Phoenix musicians Tom Moore (aka Voyager Tom Moore) and Sherry Finzer have interwoven their individual music talents together to create and record an “outer to inner world” musical journey aptly titled Whispers from Silence.

The album was designed to help facilitate a deeply meditative experience for the listener using sound and silence. Tom and Sherry create audio imagery with exotic and unpredictable sounds, which unwind slowly and gracefully utilizing wind instruments and synthesizers. The result is a sound that seems ancient, yet sensitive, distinct and relative to the world today. The music on Whispers from Silence encourages deep relaxation, inner peace, and awakening to the spirit.

As stated on the back cover of the album, “All movement comes from stillness, all sound comes from silence.”

Tom Moore is a multi-instrumentalist who creates, plays, and produces meditative, ambient, atmospheric, and electronic music. He states that the music he creates and performs comes from, and is intimately interwoven with, his path as an explorer of consciousness. He is also the founding director of a business focusing on human potential named "SENSE of PURPOSE COMMUNICATIONS" where he shares "Pathways" to live a purposeful and exceptional life through his seminars and workshops.

Tom, who often performs as Voyager Tom Moore talks about his music: "I create, record, and perform 'Space Music.' It is transcendent music and inspires us to move beyond our boundaries, and explore the timeless depths of space with a spiritual musical vision. My 'Outer Space' audio journeys express the awe of outer space and the excitement of the exploration of our physical universe. My 'Inner Space" music uses sound and silence to create deeply meditative music that helps us shift our attention from external stimuli to the more subtle place of 'Feeling and Being.' My music intends to express an undercurrent of awareness and an inner spiritual presence. I believe it is this spiritual dimension that gives real meaning to our lives." His music has been heard on New Age genre music stations, including the syndicated "Music from the Hearts of Space," and was included in the award winning "Illumination" video production that also included music by Steve Halpern and Jonn Serrie.

Sherry Finzer is an international award-winning American flutist, composer, and performer. Sherry says, “I was drawn to new age music because it helps people with healing and I have learned how much people can be affected in a positive way by music.” Reviewers have described her playing as “deeply haunting….ambient chamber music....calms and yet piques the senses."

Altogether she has recorded 16 CD’s. 2013's collaboration with guitarist Darin Mahoney, Transformation, won One World Music Best Album of the Year.
Flute Flight with Native American flutist Mark Holland won the award for Zone Music Reporter Best Album-Relaxation/Meditation 2015, and was nominated by OWM Radio (Best Album Acoustic 2015). Review excerpt from Music and Media Focus
“All movement comes from stillness. All sound comes from silence.” These words from the back cover of the new album by Phoenix-based musicians Tom Moore and Sherry Finzer, set the stage for their collaborative music that uses sound and silence to help facilitate a deeply meditative experience for the listener. In addition to Sherry’s flutes on every track, Tom plays keyboard synthesizers and samplers, as well as a bit of electric bass, guitar, and acoustic percussion, and is the primary composer of the music. All voices and ethnic instrument sounds were played on synths and samplers.

The album opens with the tone of a soft temple bell on “Awakening Breath” and proceeds into a five and a half minute meditative flute solo, which helps the listener quiet their mind and settle into the musical spiritual journey that follows. The mystical vibration of India permeates the next track with its Sufi-inspired title, “Toward The One.” Nature sounds blend with the drone of tamboura, sitar, tabla rhythms, and a haunting flute melody. As the piece evolves, electronic elements and ethereal choirs are added to the mix, making for a mélange of exotic sonic spices. The appropriately named “Infinite Space,” creates the kind of atmospheric aura that would make it a perfect fit for the kind of planetarium shows that Tom does, as drifting synth textures create a celestial backdrop for deeper tones of Sherry’s Guo bass flute.

The 8 songs on “Whispers From Silence” range from approximately 6 minutes to 10 minutes, which adds to the meditative nature of the recording. The creative elements that Tom Moore and Sherry Finzer each bring to this collaboration lifts the music to rarified heights. The compositions evolve slowly allowing the mind to quiet as the listener is carried along in a flow of ethereal sound textures and spacious drifting flute. “Whispers From Silence” is a deep and expansive listening experience that makes a perfect soundtrack for an inner voyage.

Review from
‘Whispers from Silence’ is the collaborative project of multi-instrumentalist Tom Moore and international flutist Sherry Finzer. Comprised of eight compositions spanning just over an hour, the duo blend synthesizers with wind instruments to create a deeply immersive and meditative soundscape that feels ancient, sacred and enchantingly exotic, with subtle earthy rhythms underscoring several of the pieces.

“Awakening Breath” opens with the toll of a Tibetan bell followed by an exotic flute solo, evoking a spirit of reverence and solitude that sets the mood for a serenely soulful and mystical journey. “Towards the One” follows next with an opening chorus of crickets and nocturnal sounds, before transitioning into an enveloping and warmly-lit soundscape of flute, sitar and synthesizers that are soon accompanied by a flowing organic rhythm. It’s one of my favorite compositions on the album, bringing to mind images of a sacred sensual dance being performed amidst an enthralling haze of candlelight and incense smoke. “Infinite Space” is another gorgeous piece that invokes a blissful and dreamlike state, as breezy flute ethereally floats among a bed of gossamer chords like clouds passing slowly across the sky. Also particularly noteworthy is the beautifully hypnotic closing piece, “An Ancient Presence”, which effectively conveys the notion of standing in the presence of an ancient sacred temple. Here, droning chords merge with deep vocal intonations before introducing a mesmerizing flute melody, as earthy percussion subtly guides the piece along in a meditative mode that seems to fuse an eastern mystical vibe with a Native American essence.

Deeply entrancing from beginning to end, ‘Whispers of Silence’ is an impeccably outstanding album of perfectly executed artistic vision as well as utmost professionalism. Grounding, earth-centered, and ceremonial in nature, its compositions beckon the listener to step into a sacred space that allows the mind and spirit to feel unrestrained by time or geographical location. Easily one of the best albums of its kind to emerge in recent memory, ‘Whispers from Silence’ is especially and enthusiastically recommended for yoga, meditation and shamanic journeying!
