Album Notes
You may have seen Tommy Anderson – better known as Tommy Rocks – performing on stages throughout Arizona either as a soloist or in various rock bands, including the Tommy Rocks Trio, Ringo McLennonSon (a Beatles Tribute band), OvO (with NYC guitarist Joe Berger), The Beatless and The Overtones. While known as a rocker, Tommy’s latest CD “EVOLVE” covers his musical evolution from growing up in the country to the city - and back again to his roots.

The songs on this – his fifth – CD range from old-timey ukulele songs (“It’s Party Time” and “I’ll See You In My Dreams”) to rootsy acoustic folk songs (“Sweet Gina B” and “That Birthday Song”) - possibly the first birthday song to say “ I can’t believe you ain’t dead yet.”

Other songs on the CD include instrumental songs (the video for “North Shore” by Tommy Anderson is now on YouTube), traditional swing songs (“Utah Moon” and “It’s Party Time Reprise”), a Texas waltz (“I Miss You (With All of My Heart”), a straight-out bluegrass song (“Head For The Hills”), acoustic instrumentals, a Beatle-esque love song (“Love Me”), as well as a few pop songs “Fortunate Fool” and “Jerome,” in which Tommy entertains the idea of running away to Jerome AZ, a place where he frequently performs.

EVOLVE features an impressive array of Arizona musicians, including Steve Botterweg and Tony Bruno from Major Lingo, Darryl Icard from Los Guys, Pablo Richards and Steve Golba from Ringo McLennonSon, Kevin Mauch from The Biffos, along with Andy Ziker on drums, Stevie Ray Ellis on banjo, Billy Parker on mandolin and featuring newcomer Sean Golden on two tracks.
