Album Notes

Tommy Ash is a singer/songwriter Born and raised in Phoenix, AZ who has been singing and performing since her younger age (Yes, Tommy Ash is a she), doing shows in popular local venues and opening up for Grand Ole Opry member John Conlee and Tracy Lawrence at only 14 years old.
Now in her mid 20’s, Tommy Ash has been leading her own band for several years, playing all across the South West US and Europe, from bars and popular live music venues to theaters and rodeos, sharing the stage with American music legends along the way. The band opened for country music superstar Dwight Yoakam for a sold out show at the Fox Tucson Theatre in February 2013. Tommy Ash and her band also shared the stage with Cody Canada & The Departed, Tracy Lawrence, Neal McCoy and John Micheal Montgomery in 2013.

The band’s influences are anchored in Roots Rock/Americana and real Country music, such as Johnny Cash, Wanda Jackson, Patsy Cline, Waylon Jennings, Dwight Yoakam, Merle Haggard, Dale Watson, Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt, Jerry lee Lewis and many more.

Thanks to their unique sound, the Tommy Ash Band was featured in the Phoenix New Times as one of the “10 Phoenix Bands You Need to Hear This Summer 2012”.

- “The opening Tommy Ash Band, from Phoenix, paired well with Yoakam, playing a tight and grooving honky-tonk. Singer Tommy Ash (Tommy in this case is a she) has a big, bold voice that’s just as adept for torch songs as the band’s rockin’ version of Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues.” – Tucson Weekly

- “The Tommy Ash Band draws on enough modern sass and classic freight train beats to appeal to fans of both Traditional and New Country” – Phoenix New Times

- “Yoakam took the stage for the first time around 8:30 p.m., following the opening act, Tommy Ash Band. With a strong lead singer who had a June Carter quality, she knocked a rendition of “Jolene” out of the water. The Tommy Ash Band finished a seven-song set with the Johnny Cash favorite, “Folsom Prison.” –

- “What if there was a band that embraced classic country sounds without sounding retro? You know, contemporary country, but with solid roots. Tommy Ash Band is one such group” – Phoenix New Times
