Album Notes
Authentic Americana, about life in rural Alaska and the trials of living in remote locations and a pretty extreme need for solitude. This is very banjoistic but it isn't bluegrass. Think Bukka White covering a Minutemen song. It came out of a love for Mississippi Delta Blues, first heard on college radio in the early 80's. Always seeking the roots of things, a chance call to WNHU to hear the original Son House song that was covered by the Gun Club led to the DJ playing a slew of Johnny Shines and Fred McDowell tunes and an electrifying awakening to the power and richness of American Country Blues.
Thanks, Erik!
