Album Notes
The Gun Club's cover of a Son House tune led the then-teenaged Tommy Dahill to seek out the music's roots and led straight to the Mississippi Delta Blues music of Johnny Shines, Fred McDowell and Bukka White. Thank goodness for college radio (WNHU in particular) that would play this music back in 1981. Growing up in the 70's and 80's and digging bands like the Minutemen and Link Wray resulted in a fusion of the old and the loud. Think Muddy Waters playing a Minor Threat song on a banjo.
