ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Tommy Johns has been performing and mixing live sound in groups and as a solo artist for over 20 years. He started with private lessons at age 8 and continued with his music education until finishing his Bachelor of Music at the University of Wisconsin. The first Groups he performed in were in the mid-west where he was bassist and lead vocalist in several cover/top40 bands. Tommy was house engineer for the Chicago based group "Haymarket Riot" and the widely popular "Funkhouse". He later moved to Denver where he was one of many artists selected to perform on a series of CD's called Acoustitherapy which are currently available from Colorado Creative Music. (www.Acoustitherapy.com) Currently residing in Seattle, Tommy has just released his first full length CD of original pop/rock music ("This is Supposed to be Fun!?" available from Woobiebearmusic.com) on his own label and is performing acoustic shows in the Pacific Northwest in support of it. He has also contributed songs for Vol.s 1 and 2 of Beartracks produced by woobiebearmusic. (www.woobiebearmusic.com).

Rock The Way You Want It
Tommy John's Heading Into Tomorrow represents, in my opinion, where rock music should be headed, instead of where it seems, to my dismay, to be going these days. HIT is blend of high energy, guitar driven tunes and softer, acoustic interludes accompanied by his soulful, gutsy vocals. The tracks "Standing", together with "Gone", "You And Me" and "Fly Away" are for me the most appealing tunes on the CD, with dense yet very melodic "wall of sound" guitar/keyboard arrangements and great riffage that hearken back to the days of Journey, Rush, Bon Jovi et. al. The standout track on the CD is "Hate Is Not A Family Value", with its poignant anti-homophobic message, edgy vocals, driving rhythm and great hook. It provides food for thought long after the track has ended, unless you're like and keep playing it again and again. :)

This CD will appeal to anyone who appreciates simple, honest rock music that grabs you by the hand and heart, taking you on a musical journey into the kind of Tomorrow we can only dream about.
