Album Notes
'Australia Wide' represents a sample from Tommy Roberts' extensive repertoire of original songs and is well worth a listen. The title song Thursday Night (Australia Wide) is a salute to Australia’s tradition of late night shopping where trading hours are extended on Thursday nights in cities and larger towns across Australia. Tommy recalls that when he was a young boy his family would sometimes go out on a Thursday night. (click READ MORE link to continue)

Roberts remembers, "I'd wind the car's rear window down a little to catch the balmy night air on my face. It smacked of mystery. I liked the ephemerality of the open road and the softly illuminated colours of the car's dark interior. There was a romance, a simple magic to it. I wrote my song, Thursday Night (Australia Wide) hoping to convey a sense of that magic."

'Thursday Night' and songs such as 'Get West', 'Lonely Nights', 'Blind Fury' and 'I Imagine You With Me' have an adventurous, refreshingly simple and unique Australian Country Pop Music quality or feel. Then there’s the lyrically adroit, 'Cool To My Drama'. It’s a striking song that might potentially inhabit genres ranging from Alternative to Jazz through to Cabaret. The final song on this short album is, 'A Good Love'. It's a smooth song with an easy going appeal. Have a listen. (excerpt from Press Release 06-06-2013)

Some Words From Tommy Roberts:

Australia Wide is an EP of Produced Demos of my Original Songs. I recorded all Vocals at Home with my own Studio Mic and corresponded with an independent home based producer over the internet. Basically I sent him my composition sheets and audio and video demos and communicated my vision for the songs. Suffice to say this is not a high end studio recording. Rather, it's a sample of my vocals and songwriting that has been afforded some limited production according to my modest means. I encourage anyone who likes what they hear to please Comment & Share. I also encourage you to Buy the EP or rather, now the price has changed, one or more of the songs. Your purchase will help me to recover some of the production and associated costs. Perhaps also this EP may inspire someone to support the full commercial production and release of an Australia Wide album or one or more of my Original Songs currently available to View and Listen to as Video Song Demos c/- my YouTube channel playlist titled, 'My Art & Songs'. Please read my "Explainer Notes" as follows:

(1) "Australia Wide" is an Extended EP of produced demos consisting of seven songs produced by Jeff Severson. Songs from this EP that do appear on a new release may be reworked and/or reproduced and may not be available for purchase in this original format again.

(2) After having sold no more than one or two units, the EP is now listed as a $99.00 "Collector Release". This is the highest price option available on my CD Baby account. IF I could list it at a higher price I would do that but unfortunately I can't.

My rationale is more creative than greedy. I'm not a huge fan of my vocals on my title song "Thursday Night" or on my song "Lonely Nights". Yes, I think my vocals could be improved on these two songs. This being the case, I'd prefer, in the unlikely event the EP does ever get market interest, to not have to cringe every time I hear those two songs. Yes, I'd prefer, instead, for those two songs to be re-recorded and appear on an "Australia Wide" ALBUM.

Nevertheless, I do, at the moment, need, money. So, if you want to avail yourself of "cringe-ammunition" you can use against me should I ever walk into your store or accidentally tune into your radio station or similar OR if you're a fellow artist or patriot who likes the idea of financially supporting my work, you might consider purchasing the EP at this outlandish price. Not of course, unless you're rich, I'd recommend you do 'cause, TOTAL RIP OFF.

I recommend most people simply buy any of the Five (5) songs they may like. Some may also perceive the worth of sharing the link to the EP and helping to convince a good Australian Record Label to produce and release an "Australia Wide" album.

Thanks for your interest.

Tommy R.
