Album Notes
"Root Beer Makes Me Burp" (2004) is a collection of 17 songs for the children in Tom's life The title song was derived on a camping trip when 7 year-old Kayla took a swallow of root beer and burped. “Root beer makes me burp,” she observed. This was followed by Jacob’s (10 years old) non-stop burping and 20 minutes later, Tom sang the song for them. Tom has always written songs for his kids, whether at home or at school. This compilation chronicles their evolution from 4-8 years old. Themes around sports, food, animals, health, & safety all are addressed, and are woven throughout with love. The CD documents historic events such as the Medieval Feast, Halloween, canoeing in the CT River, and getting busted at a North Carolina airport. The grossest lyrics in “Boogers” are attributed to Lily’s 1st grade class in Brookline, MA. Tributes are paid to Oli, Tyler, Marcia aka “Queen” Rossi, Ruthie aka Ruthie Coyote Bosch, and Rosie. This CD is a loving gift for his children.
