ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Joseph Connolly is the Pastor/Teacher at United Church of Christ in Norwich, NY. I had the privilege of serving on the music staff of that church from 2008-2012.

During that time, and since. Joe and I composed many anthems for the choir to perform; some for specific occasions, some just because they seemed like good ideas. Joe is a wordsmith, which means that he crafts words so that they have meter and meaning; rhyme and substance. Those kinds of lyrics are easy to set to music since they practically “sing” themselves. Some of these texts were written specifically as song lyrics, some were culled from Sunday sermons, and a few were based on Joe's monthly church newsletter column.

As I reviewed these 16 choir anthems, it occurred to me that they also work as solo numbers. So, here they are. If we did our job well, you will find yourself singing along with them.
