ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The heart of music writing is sometimes referred to as Passion: the desire to create, whether through composing, playing, or both.

Of course, there’s more to it than that. I have often told beginning guitar students that it takes two things to make it work: time and inclination. If you have the inclination and can’t find the time, you will never succeed; if you have the time, but not the inclination to do music, you will never even get started.
.
The passion comes when those two elements are in place, and you discover you simply can’t exist without making music.

These 20 songs are born out of that kind of passion, which is a result of my having found the time to accommodate my inclination.

My collaborator on 8 of these songs, Douglas Rose, is an extraordinary wordsmith. Really more of a poet than a lyricist, Douglas brings a whole different depth of expression to the thoughts that I am trying to communicate. Over the years, he has learned to make his words “sing.”

I hope these songs will light a fire in your soul.
