Album Notes
"The Moment the Apple Falls" is Tom Yoder's second recording. Following the success of his first release, "Eat This It's Safe", Tom has continued to cut a brilliant, unpredictable trail. The CD shows Tom's growth and maturity as a composer, yet the music never strays from a tightly knit acoustic journey. The music is at once letting go and firmly grounded.

Tom is a faculty member of Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. His experience as an instructor has helped him in conducting successful guitar clinics throughout the Carolinas.

Tom first release "Eat This It's Safe" was very well received. Tunes from the CD get plenty of airplay on regional public radio as well as NPR's popular daily program "All Things Considered". Four songs from the CD did well in songwriting competitions: "Mashu Mashu" was a finalist in the Independent Music Awards as well as the Great American Song contest. "The Wedding", "94 Letters" and "Jennah" were all finalists in the MOVA Arts Festival songwriting competition. And, before it was officially released "O'Coughlin's Reel" from "The Moment the Apple Falls", was a finalist in the UK Songriting Competition.

Tom has played a wide variety of music through the years. You can see him play loud, fast, electric guitar at He has played the National Anthem several times at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans minor league baseball team home games. He also writes an occasional instructional column for and

With "The Moment the Apple Falls" Tom forges together his many influences and blends them into a wide variety of tunes. Thus assuring himself his own unique corner of the guitar world.

Lets you take a mini-vacation
Beautiful guitar work. It's like taking a mini-vacation from the pressures of life. You can picture the music with a movie playing in the background. Thoroughly enjoyable!
