Album Notes
"Heartache On The Run, Toni Catlin's debut album is loaded with great songs, lots of heart, and great promise." - Al Cafaro - Former President of A&M Records

"Toni Catlin is one of the most exciting female artists to emerge this year." -Billy Block - Host of Western Beat on CMT

Toni Catlin's debut release Heartache On The Run positions this singer/songwriter for international acclaim. The lonesome cry in her voice is both delicate and powerful with an honesty that engages the listener from the onset.

Catlin began performing covers of Jackson Browne, Linda Rondstadt and the Eagles at her family's Adirondack resort. She then perfected her talent for singing and playing the guitar at St. Lawrence University and the Austro-American Institute in Vienna, Austria. After traveling through Europe and Central America Toni settled in Telluride, Colorado where she worked for the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Here Toni began to embrace her own musical style by performing regularly in the Rockies ski towns. After an intensive vocal studies program at the Musician's Institute in Los Angeles, Catlin took the advice of many noted songwriters appearing at Telluride and moved to Nashville.

It didn't take Toni long to establish herself as a quality songwriter in the city where the competition is fierce. She has had songs published by several notable companies such as Curb Music and Big Fish Entertainment. Now Toni has teamed with producer Preston Sullivan to create her debut release Heartache On The Run, a freshly melodic pairing of sensual rhythms and heart-wrenching vocals. A superbly complimentary production accompanied by Nashville's top session players, Toni Catlin's emotive vocals and strong songwriting represent a refreshingly competitive collection perfectly suited for today's music environment.

The single, Wrong Side Of Me, is captivatingly honest with the gutsy weariness of moving on. This song delivers a sympathetic yet powerful stance on taking control of the boundaries of love. No Justice In Love swaggers into an infectious groove as Catlin's voice shines with a declaration of acceptance. The mysterious intro to Bulletproof builds to an upbeat, driving tune that embodies inner strength - the ability to survive, the drive to go on. The song of surrender, Me And My Heartache On The Run, was penned with Grammy nominated songwriter Gwil Owen.

The grounded, self-confident Toni Catlin bears her soul in the form of indelible melody and raw, heartfelt lyrics. Heartache On The Run shines with promise for emerging singer/songwriter Toni Catlin.

A native of Vermont Toni is also an avid adventurer. She grew up ski racing, horseback riding, snorkling, and hiking. She has led wilderness trips in the Adirondacks, the Southwest, and the Carribean and continues to pursue these interests as well as her music.

This album was sold out for months and I had to wait to get my copy. Now, I finally know why it sold out so quickly; this is one really great cd!! Ms. Catlin has an excellent voice and gets extra gold stars for having written or co-written 8 of the 10 songs on the album. I just love singer/songwriters; all that talent can't go wrong. My favorite tracks? Not an easy decision to eliminate any, but I guess I'd choose "No justice in love", "Me and my heartcahe on the run", "Wrong side of me", Talkin' to the wind", & "Bulletproof". Don't ask me to narrow it down more than that. Buy a copy of the album and you'll see what I mean, but buy quickly, before they sell out again!!
