ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
“Tonja Dudley Bagwell's poems in Perceptual Salvations are concise, cohesive, powerful evocations of the poet's intrepid witnessing to the highs and lows, the darkness and the brightness, of the human psyche and experience. She celebrates the resilience of the human spirit that can overcome adversity and emerge transcendent. The poems can be portals to transformative insight, discovery, and deep feeling. Some of the subjects she addresses are not easy to contemplate, yet Tonja's creativity and compassion make these poems precisely what the title proclaims -- perceptual salvations.”

Poetry with music
Tonja Bagwell has a beautiful way with her poetry to delve into the depths of difficult problems. I was quite moved by her words and there is the promise of recovery, as she has worked in this field many years practicing her expertise. She asked if she could use my music and knew about my work using sound as a therapeutic application. The combination of the music and the poetry came together and complimented each other. Thank you Tonja!

Mental Vacation
The poetry is inspiring and her voice sounds nice and sexy. She sometimes over emphasises her Ts but her diction is clear and keeps me interested.
As I drive angrily to work, I listen to her poems and am transported to a calm place which gets me ready to begin my daily struggle. Mental vacation indeed.
