ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Hello Friends, Fans & Family!

Thank you all for supporting me with your positive comments. I've been busy these days working on several music projects! Been working with a friend of mine, Gary Huckleberry (of John The Conqueroo) on an acoustic duo act that we hope to take on the road, or overseas, or who knows where. Also have written some excellent light jazz tunes and am looking for a producer (hint hint) - and last, but the most fun, is working with my old Tyger's buddies on new songs in the vein of old songs...or something like that.

Take a look at the links on the lower left for our myspace duo site and Martha's new eBay store.

See ya,

Tony

So what does Tony's music sound like?
Well, imagine Steely Dan collides with The Carpenters and you have a pretty good idea. Listening to the masters of vocal harmony, like Gene Puerling & The Hi-Los, and the Four Freshmen, while he grew up, Tony was able to instinctively incorporate great vocals into his own songwriting. Believing in the basics - that a good melody holds the song together - his music truly passes the "hum test".

Liner notes from the CD:

All songs and lyrics written by Tony except, "Never Go Bad" written by Tony and Craig Fairchild, "Dancing The Night Away" and "One More Dance" written by Tony and Gary Falcone. All songs copyright 2002 Tony Dancy Music - BMI, produced by Smartypants Productions - www.tonydancy.com. Engineered by Dale Rawson, Blue Wing Audio, Milwaukee, WI.

Music sequencing and arranging by Tony Dancy, with Tony on guitar and lead vocals. Background vocals by Tony and Craig Fairchild.

Cover photo by Martha Dancy, taken in Bombay, India, March 2000, jewel tray photo by Debbie Young, photo on back of jewel case by Rock Zimmermann.

I dedicate all of my artistic endeavors to:
My mother, Pat Dancy, who makes all things possible.
My wife Martha, who is my unexpected and entirely undeserved gift from Heaven.

Thanks to my many friends and relatives including, but not limited to:
My dad, the late John Dancy, who correctly reminded me that, "Life is good", and his wonderful family who is also my family - my late Uncle Rusty, an intrepid iconoclast whom I miss dearly - Uncle Jim, whose enthusiasm and encouragement never ends - my personal manager and friend, the late Jon Hall - Terri Fricon, for seeing something in me that I wasn't sure was there anymore - my good friends and bandmates Louie Fragassi, Barry Beihoff, Mark Lansing, Mike Murphy, and, of course, my friend, band mate, and co-writer for over 35 years, Craig Fairchild - the original Tygers, my cousin Dave Kuck, Fred Euler, Dennis Duchrow, Gary Smith, Lanny Hale, Joe Turano and, again, Craig Fairchild - Quiffy alumni Gary Falcone, Jim McPhaul, Doug West, Ron Benedict, Joe Ramirez - WOKY superstar Bob Barry, Jim Ogreenc, Neil Speerbrecher, Leon Klekowski, the late Joe Crivello, Dale Rawson, and many more to whom I apologize for omitting.

"Only You", was written by me for Martha, on the occasion of our 2nd wedding anniversary, December 26, 2001.

May the dance never end!

Catchy, irresistible melodies...
"I've known Tony for 35 years and he just keeps getting better and better …he has always had a knack for writing catchy, irresistible melodies backed up with big ear-filling harmonies. He's done it again with ’Midnight Dancing’." Bob Barry, WOKY DJ and 2001 inductee into the Wisconsin Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

Sophisticated harmonic sense...
"Tony Dancy possesses one of the most interesting voices I have ever heard; clear, articulate, with warmth and flawless intonation. Extremely pop-friendly, yet unusual enough to tweak the ear of even the most jaded listener, it draws you into a world of lyricism accompanied by sophisticated harmonic sense. I always look forward to Tony’s latest effort, as I know that there will inevitably be something there to surprise me and bring a smile to my face." Joe Turano – singer, saxophonist, keyboardist for Al Jarreau.
