Album Notes
This, my third Nashville album release, was actually completed almost a year ago, or so I thought. But then I decided to record one more song...then another...and another...and so on. Most were compositions from the past that I had never gotten the chance to record but always wanted to. Thus, it became a cornucopia of the many different musical influences I'd grown up with like John Denver, Eagles, Elton John, Johnny Cash, and my favorite singer, Dean Martin, to name a few. Even my favorite actor, John Wayne, got in the act as the inspiration for the song “The Cowboy Life!” The song that bookends the recordings, “Movin' On,” a choral piece written by Ray Hannisian, is a song I was introduced to in grade school by my music teacher, Doris Williamson. The album begins with my homage to the choral version that had remained with me all those years, and ends with an upbeat remake of the same song which I had always imagined could be a great 70's pop song. It turned out to be a fitting way to end the album. I was able to contact Mr. Hannisian via a Facebook friend who heard my choral version on Youtube, and I am honored to say that the inclusion of both renditions of the song, come with his blessing! The coolest part is that he told me he had originally written the song as a pop song!

A project like this requires the talents of many people. I have been blessed to meet many since moving to Music City almost twenty-two years ago. This album is a culmination of the many extraordinary studio musicians, engineers, fellow writers, artists, friends and family who encouraged me along the way...including my wonderful and talented daughters, Jennifer and Melanie, who sing lead and harmonies, respectively, on “Wanna Be Loved.”
