Album Notes
Too Old To Rock is the brainchild of guitarists Jim Reindel and Chris Hattingh. The band was formed in 2002 to showcase Jim and Chris's formidable compositional skills and exceptional guitar playing.

Their debut CD "Too Dumb To Quit" is an all-instrumental, 12-song album which is mostly in a progressive rock vein, but which also touches upon metal, shred, jazz fusion, mainstream rock, psychedelic rock, exotic eastern music and acoustic balladry. The one constant is the guitar wizardry weaving its way into each and every track on the album.

Just listened to the samples and it was a surprise to hear instrumental guitar in the metal rock veign back when I thought long ago the new generation had forgotten the pleasure of deriving technical skills instead of cashing in for a few years and making it big and then realizing that you just don't have what it takes, to many alternative rock bands just strumming along, of course there still are some talented ones, but they sacrifice talent for the show, can't you have the best of both worlds. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Great work, and playing like this, nah they can't be all that old can they?

A frightening display of (gulp) TASTEFUL guitar virtuosity AND masterful songcrafting!! Every note fits perfectly in place. This is the best guitar album I've ever bought...I just can't stop listening to it.

Excellent guitar work! Great Songs!
These guys are very close to sounding like Joe Satriani on a few of these tracks. Something tells me these guys aren't as old as they appear!!! Keep Rockin!!

Great CD, EXCELLENT Musical Precision…but
What an album! Another great effort for the archives, how I praise and admire you for the painstaking time and diligence to your love of music and yet, I lament for you.
For I know without the backing of a prominent music promotion establishment to enlighten the musically blind of our society, (the ones with money who need to be told what is good), only the chosen few will ever know of your suffering.
I know you do it for the love of music,

These guys are definitely not too old to rock, I was expecting some lame music but these guys surprised me. They know how to rock hard and loud! Keep up the great work fellas!!!!

Man, this CD RAWKS!!!!!
This Cd has some GREAT songs highlighted by EXCELLENT, tasty,rip-roaring shred. The songs range from heavy metal to all acoustic tunes. One song (Arthritic Shredfest) features both guitarists taking turns doing guitar solo's (very cool how one players solo morphs into the other) then into a screaming fast paced, double bass shuffle that kicks *ss!!!
I've listened many times and never get tired of this CD. There is enough variety of guitar playing to satisfy just about anyone into hot guitars. Very melodic, mature and well written songs throughout. Highly recommended! You can't go wrong-

One other thing...the two old guys on the cover are NOT the guys playing on this CD. These guys have a refreshing sense of humor (not the typical posers with angry faces) and it shows in their music.

Bravo !!! A must have for any guitar fan !!
This CD was everything I expected and more!! Hattingh and Reindel's guitars seem to be feeding off each others energy...creating a diverse mind blowing musical ambiance unmatched by any other I have ever heard !! My personal favorite being "Bingo Night at Emilys" Let's hope these two guitar masters never quit !! A definite treasure to my collection !!!

Instrumental Rock Euphoria!
In a sea of "so-so" guitarists it's indeed refreshing to finally have a piece of work that represents two guitarists that obviously take what they do SERIOUSLY! From the "get-go" you realize, and are relieved, this is not just another blatant excerise in "guitar masturbation" - but focused, concise and well-executed virtuosity! I've played guitar or 20+ years and in my opinion - this is the real deal! Well worth the money...

A stunning set of guitar performances!
This is a tremendous display of guitar agility and just plane ole hard rocking! Extremely tasteful, soulful, with interesting twists and turns around every corner with just a sense of humor spinkled in. These guys are serious guitar heroes that can still mangane a laugh! Great Stuff!!

Bought alot of cd's from CDBaby, but this is definitely one of the best. Thanks for being too dumb to give up guys. Good sense of humor (album, band & song titles) and great music. Hope they don't stroke out on us before releasing another cd or two.
