ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Distinguished composer, musician and journalist Alexei Borisov (Moscow, Russia), well-known for his numerous collaborations and participation in a vast range of electronic festivals joined Tooth Kink project in 2005. Tooth Kink was established by electronic composer Mikhail «MOX» Salnikov (also Poostosh, QUTH and others) to quench his thirst for improvisational experimental composing/performing.
The concept is creating dimensions, involving every musician, who is keen to participate. The self-titled debut CD - 18 tracks of Noise, Processed Feedback, Musique Concrete, Glitch, Montage, Lo-fi, Industrial, Post-industrial, Spontaneous stuff was released by Monstaar Records (free-download).
The second album - Tooth Kink vs Kenji Siratori was released by Clinical Archives. Kenji Siratori - Japanese cyberpunk writer, whose extreme and nonsensical prose can be compared to works of surrealists, William Burroughs and Antonin Artaud found Tooth Kink in MySpace and offered to make a joint album. So it was done – dark, provocative and brooding canvas, comprising pre-industrial, noise-hop and hi-infidelity (free-download).
In May of 2008 Tooth Kink met Ilia Belorukov (Dots and Lines, Wozzeck and others) to record «Heads & Tails». Belorukov is a young saxophonist from Saint-Petersburg, Russia. He works in the direction of free improvisation, free-jazz, noise and electroacoustic music. Ilia practices an experimental approach of sound extraction on different types of saxophones (alto, tenor and baritone) and on flute (inc. fluteophone). In his compositions and improvisations you can find out influences of John Zorn, Derek Bailey, Mats Gustafsson, Evan Parker and other masters of improvised music. By now he has managed to release plenty albums and collaborate with a number of jazz/impro/electronic musicians as well as paricipate in some festivals.
«Heads & Tails» is a two-part suite recorded in a real time and later produced by Salnikov. It repesents a wide and versatile palette of genres and subgenres, still retaining noise tinge. All three contributors are tightly intertwined in this gripping, psychedelic and fluid work, which wouldn't leave a listener indifferent. Genuine bounty for an experimental music lover.
