For more than just filk fans
Toyboat brings the "sensibilities" of rock to filk. Filk has never been easy to define and the musical style of filk, while beginning firmly in folk roots, is always branching throughout musical genres. Toyboat's influences are pure rock and it shows.

One needn't be into a specific book or movie to enjoy this album. The subjects range from zombies to classic video games. I recommend you turn it up and enjoy!

PS: Listen closely on "Zombie Mama" for the world's worst zombie pun and close your eyes and just listen to the beginning of "Sunset Boulevard." You won't regret it!

The reason I'm a Toyboat Fangirl
I first encountered Toyboat at a science fiction convention in the Pittsburgh area called Confluence in 2009. They came highly recommended by some friends of mine, so I made it a point to see them perform. From the first song they played in the open music circle on Friday night through the concert they had on Saturday, I was hooked. The energy, the driving power in the way they put their own spin on the songs, and the sheer amount of FUN they were obviously having all made it a richer experience for me. As soon as their debut CD came out, I got it at the very next convention I would see them at - Windycon in Chicago, 2009. I cemented my status as complete Toyboat fangirl when I got them all to sign my album and take a picture with me. :D Definitely pick this up - these guys know how to put on a good show, and how to make that energy transfer over into an album version of their work.
