ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
DUO HARMONY winners - Western Music Association - Nov. 2005

National touring, an Emmy for arranging, too many performances to count, and hundreds of enthusiastic current and prior students are all part of Walt Richards' musical history.

Paula Strong, an avid collector of western, train and folk songs, is also a western history fan.

Walt and Paula have been performing together in the southwest for twenty-plus years, specializing in cowboy and train songs in addition to folk, blues, and swing tunes and Walt's solo instrumental work.

If you like duo harmony with acoustic backup check out the train songs on the "On Track" CD.
Trails & Rails, won the DUO HARMONY competition at the 2005 Western Music Association Festival in Albuquerque.

More recent CDs: "From Way Out West", "Ghosts of Tombstone" and Water, Weeds & Ghosts include trio harmony, superb bass-playing and song-writing by Bruce Huntington and stellar instrumental and vocal leads by Ken Wilcox.
"Western Tales" featuresKen, again, along with bass player, Pete Vahola.
And the CDs "Off the Beaten Track" and "Gatherin' Strays" feature Walt & Paula with bass-player extraordinaire, and now song-writer as well - Mike Craig !

We felt the music on this CD was very unique and offered a wide range of excellent music. The voices provide great harmony. We are enjoying the CD very much and plan to give one to family for Christmas.
