Album Notes
Award-winning Vietnamese zither player Tri Nguyen invites us to join him on an exciting "Journey Between Worlds."

On Tri's first album, "Consonnances" Tri attempted to bring together two of the world's great musical traditions: the western string quartet and the Vietnamese zither; two traditions that have spanned the centuries. For his new EP, "A Journey Between Worlds," he is joined by the extraordinary oud player Qaïs Saadi. In doing so, he has united two musical styles that have never
met before! Just as in "Consonnances", Tri has set out to create a new type of music, fusing Vietnamese instruments and melodies with foreign musical styles. This adveturous mix, an extension of his own bi-cultural upbringing becomes an expression of pride for his own ancestral culture and his desire to present the authentic music of VIetnam to a new generation of listeners around the world, showcasing the exporessiveness of Vietnamese music on an equal footing with the world's great musical traditions.
