ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Amidst the gathering wave of nostalgic surf rock bands, Trio Agave carves a different line. There's something raw and infectious about their original, instrumental tunes, which span the gamut from pretty-but-gritty prom night grinders to the background score for the bikers that show up to wreak havoc later. Sure, they've listened to the quintessential albums of the genre closely, but they aren't trying to reproduce them. Catch a live show and you'll find out what 'surf rock' can be—or maybe even what it really was to the kids who loved this music the first time around.

Founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 2013, Trio Agave features Gregg "Rex" Litwin on guitar, Stewart Bradley on drums, and Ian Schaefer on bass. With the release of their freshman album, The Tequila Band with the Rock and Roll Problem, earlier this year, the instrumental power trio embarked on a rigorous performance schedule in the region while also finding the time to record a follow-up album, Tequila Mockingbird, release on Halloween 2014.
