Album Notes
From the salty air and the cool lake mist, great ballads, acoustic blues,a sense of humor and a tropical ambiance are blended together.

Thats the magic of Tropical Denny. That's the reason his fans wait for his return to their beach...so they can smile to the sounds from the self titled CD, Tropical Denny Music to Beach About, on Houseboat Records.

This is what makes Tropical Denny happy and being happy is what Tropical Denny's all about. He enjoys living and writing music on his houseboat somewhere near Austin Texas,USA.

Mose Allison happens to be a particular favorite blues singer of mine, and having listened to just the first track, Mose instantly springs to mind. Track 2 however was like listening to a completely different singer. As the cd played on it all started to 'gel' together rather nicely. Country blues for sure...kind of made me wish I was on holiday, just cruising along on that old African Queen, with Denny laid back playing the entire album for me...(no I don't look like Katherine Hepburn)...just waiting for the sun to go down, and,as the song says,'I ain't nowhere around'. Tropical Denny, this album is great...do another for sure! Margot@Buskers Ball of UK

Tropical Denny's lifestyle and music seems patterned after Jimmy Buffet. Acoustic "beach" music, sounds a bit like country at times. Has a real tropical flavor. This is one of those albums that you kick back and relax to.

Hi,Tropical Denny. I have just received and reviewed your CD,"Music to Beach About", and I love the hell out of this. I put a PickHit notation by every song-which doesn' happen very often. Outstanding-simple but clear production, very cool real lyrics and style. All review systems go on this one!!! I don't live on a houseboat but I think we have a lot in common....ER

Tropical Denny says his mission is to put a smile on everyone's face-and you can almost tell he was smiling as he recorded this cheery acoustic track which exudes happiness. ***

Tropical Denny's "Music to Beach About" is a blend of folk and country that's fight off the beach sunsets of the Texas Gulf. A laid back collection of beach loving tunes that express his love for seafaring nights and beachbum days. Uncluttered acoustic guitar passages with sincere and honest lyrical content. It's a guitar on the beach at night, with the surf and sea as the back-up band.

Floating in a field of purple clouds,DENNY's looking off at the sun,on the cover of his CD. He's got on his tropical shirt and his white panama hat,and he's strumming an acoustic guitar. He sings about a life of drinking tequila, chasing women, fishing, and boating around the US coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The notes on the CD claim that DENNY has an"affection for the JIMMY BUFFET way of life",which is certainly reaffirmed by his music. I also detect a bit of WILLIE NELSON influence in"Home Sweet Home Again",while"SEE YOU SOON"follows the structure of LOU REED's"Rock and Roll"in a southern, country sort of way. DENNY doesn't mention purple clouds in any of the songs on his CD,but I'm guessing that's what he sees when he wakes up in the morning...SL
