ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The city of Grand Prairie, Texas had a vision. They would build a giant recreation center that would include an indoor water park, basketball and soccer courts, gym facilities, and an indoor jogging track. It would also house continuing education facilities for art, music, and technology. In the plans were three distinct performance spaces. It was going to be EPIC!
Two years ago, our friend Rick Herold told us that he wanted us to record a live album in their Epic Theater. State of the art audio equipment run by talented professionals would be at our beck and call for two performances. We watched the Epic rise from the ground. We toured the unfinished facility in November 2017. We drooled, we waited patiently, and eventually it was a reality.

On Saturday, January 19th, 2019 we performed and recorded two sold-out shows for multiple generations of Trout fans. (Don’t be too impressed. Tickets were free.) This album represents who we are as performers and musicians now. It’s important to say this album is truly for all ages and NOT A KID’S ALBUM. After years of dividing performances for kids from our adult shows, we feel it’s time to just be ourselves.

Trout Fishing in America is Keith Grimwood (vocals, bass guitar, and Clevinger upright bass) and Ezra Idlet (vocals, acoustic guitar, bouzouki, and banjo).

We want to thank everyone at the Epic theater who made this possible. We can’t overstate how great it was to work with these professionals. Also, a big thank you goes to our wrangler Susan Billimek who coordinated this project for us.
