ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
True North has released their fourth CD, entitled “Dimestore Hemingway”. The CD showcases what audiences across the heartland have come to expect, honest songwriting placed atop a muscular musical foundation. The CD was recorded at Creative Caffeine Recording Studios, Nashville, Tennessee, with noted producer Jeff Brock at the helm.
Be it modern country, Americana, or roots rock, the group continues to deliver in stellar fashion. The songs suggest that at least some of the members are beginning to feel the years slipping by, hope tempered with fatigue. Looking forward, but not flinching about looking back, wondering as the first track suggests, if “Youth Gets Wasted on the Young”. A nod to heroes such as Johnny and Evel. The power of a piano, and a night with the fullest of moons. The pain of living reckless, and the power of redemption.
Real songs about everyman, with no apologies offered or intended. The reason True North keeps topping “Best Of” polls, and gets called for soundtracks for PBS specials. The best work yet by a band whose time has come.
