ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Born in Ontario, Oregon, and reared and educated in various towns around the state of Idaho, Travis graduated from Weiser High School in Weiser, Idaho, in 1965. He majored in drama at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. In 1967, he dropped out of college and left Idaho to experience "the summer of love" in San Francisco. Soon after his high school guitar-playing hobby became a full-time passion and source of income. He played street corners and in coffee houses and bars all over San Francisco.
In the late 1960s, he hitchhiked around the state of California playing and singing in any establishment that would have him. Later he started hitchhiking back and forth from the West Coast to the East Coast performing wherever he could. Woody Guthrie and "Ramblin' " Jack Elliot have always been his heroes and he has tried to emulate their examples in his own life. In 1972, a bartender at a ski lodge in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California hung the handle of "Travelin' Travis" on him and the name has become his moniker.
His musical years have taken him from Idaho to California, Hawaii, Texas, Florida, Colorado, New York, Canada and many places in between. He performed for four years on the deck of the schooner "Appledore" in Key West, Florida, as a "boat singer" for the nightly "Sunset Sails". He returned to California and for the next four years was a cable-car musician and entertainer for the tourists wating to board the "Fisherman's Wharf" cable cars. Since then, he has been performing at bars, coffee houses and restuarants in Oregon, Northern California, Los Angeles, Key West - and, now, in Boise, Idaho.

Very honest in his show of emotions. So this cd tends to be not overly pretty.......just good honest folky singer/song writer stuff.Really then the stuff that dreams are made of.Kind of made me glad I was just human all over again.I really liked old 'salt of the earth harley'.Partners in peace always.doc

A Troubador for the New Millenium....
Travis Brandon, a four decade musical vigilante hunting experience as grist for the song-mill has at last released a CD. It captures his gentleness, his passion and his
angst. I met him in Ontario, Canada in the 1970's. He is
an authentic troubador - from the heart. A wandering minstrel for the New Millenium. His songs share his travels and his troubles and you will be blessed to find a comrade in the spirit of Woody and Bob. They don't make
'em like this anymore.

Heartfelt songwriting that you can relate to
Travis is obviously the real thing - a songwriter who has lived the stories in his songs and feels passionately about them. The honesty in his songwriting really comes through and so you feel the emotions right along with him. There is a wealth of life experiences in this CD which makes the entire work so unique and interesting. His vocal ability and guitar playing are top notch and real - no fluff whatsoever in any of these songs. It's very important that this kind of music is heard - it's the backbone of American culture. Great job, Travis!

A storyteller who sings with conviction.
Brandon, aka Travelin' Travis, has been strumming his acoustic guitar, blowing his harmonica and singing ever since he hitch-hiked across America during the era of peace and love.
Nothing extravagant like drums or bass is included on this traditional folk CD. Fans of Woody Guthrie might appreciate Brandon's influences and ideals; anyone expecting sophisticated arrangements won't. Brandon is a storyteller who sings with conviction. And despite the CD's forward-thinking title, he still sounds like he's in the '60s, which isn't a bad place to be.

Key West - The Newspaper. (Ridenour Report)

It is full of hit songs. Travis has never sounded better.
Travelin'Travis Brandon sent me his new CD, and I have to tell you fans, you definitely want this one! It's titled, "Into The New Millenium", and it is full of hit songs. Travis has never sounded better. If I were doing A&R I would sign him immediately. The first cut, "The Ballad Of 9-11" has a mournful sound with a harmonica. The vocal is poignant. "That River Never Bends" has a dark, moody lyric. It is also excellent. "Love YOU Through The Night" is a blockbuster that says,"When your whole world's filled with darkness I will lead you to the light".
"Love Yourself" is a delightful entreaty. The "Mountain Wedding Song" is lovely. There are fun songs and serious songs on this wonderful CD. Order your copy from travelintravis@hotmail.com. If we ever get the financing for Key West Records arranged, Travis will be signed immediately!
