Album Notes
Terri Templeton has been performing professionally since the age of 16, as musician, singer, songwriter, and actress.

Over the years, Terri has been associated with Cincinnati band Over the Rhine, has toured extensively with them throughout North America and Europe, and has developed a loyal and dedicated following among not only her fellow artists, but among fans who appreciate the poetry of her performances. She can be heard on the group's Virgin/Back Porch release, Films for Radio.

Terri has worked with a wide varieity of other artists, including Canadian favorites Cowboy Junkies, solo guitarist/singer/songwriter Michelle Malone, visual artist and performer Jay Bolotin, experimental bassist/composer Chris Dahlgren, and Shawn Womack Dance Projects.

Terri has recently completed her first feature-length film for filmmaker/director Aralee Strange. This Train is soon to be released, and features Terri onscreen, in the film's key role, as the enigmatic, transient-poet Michael. You can also hear Terri on the film's soundtrack... we'll be featuring that music as well on this site, as soon as the film is released.

Her song "Walk With Me" is featured on the soundtrack of the HBO and Cinemax feature film Mixing Nia, by NYC filmmaker/director director Alison Swan.

In the company of Robyn Hitchcock, The Figgs, and several other artists, you can hear Terri sing her song Eyes, set to a text by poet Ernest Noyes Brookings, on the newest Duplex Planet release, Ernie: Songs of Ernest Noyes Brookings, compiled by artist and journalist David Greenberger.

Terri makes her home in Connecticut and New Hampshire.

"Every now and then the flame burns low, and the river within runs down slow. Just when the fire is growing dim, then I feel a touch of the final thing." (copyright 2000 Bulldog House)

Two-Seventeen Records is pleased to announce that Terri Templeton... singer, songwriter, actress... has completed her debut solo CD project, Merry Go Round, featuring the songs of Over the Rhine's Jack Henderson.

Produced by Jack Henderson, Merry Go Round features masterful instrumental work by Jack, and includes the contributions of bassist Chris Donohue and keyboard guru Rich Causon.

An album devoted entirely to the music of Jack Henderson, these songs -- rich in experience and ripe with the feeling of innocence lost and hope regained -- "approach the realm of the contemporary American art song." (David Greenberger, NPR) These songs have been expressly arranged for Terri... some of them recorded and presented here for the first time anywhere.

We at Two-Seventeen Records take great pride in this recording and in the privilege of introducing this first-time collaboration to a larger audience.

Really breathtaking
Yes, this is really a breathtaking album, from the beginning through the surprising reprise.

I am so taken, this September afternoon, by Ms Templeton! This 'merry go round' of ornate, almost eccentric songwriting by Mr Henderson, is flooding my room, mind, body with much glee!! I should say, this sound, so soft and haunting, in some instances reminding me of Maria McKee or Innocence Mission, is so striking, quietly lovely. I am enthralled and elated by this earthly elegance! and so, I do thank you for such sonically wonderful sounds!!
