Album Notes
Billy Tulsa and the Psycho Crawdads are a progressive country band with an entirely new sound. It is essentially a classic country sound coupled with the best of today's Hot Young Country. The Los Angeles Times has referred to it as Hot Rod Honky Tonk and Ya'll-ternative Country!

This album was recorded at Mad Dog Studios in Burbank, California, the studio where Dwight Yoakam recorded his albums. It was produced by Dusty Wakeman. Dusty is Recording Engineer and/or Associate Producer on Dwight's albums, as well as having performed on them. Dusty performed additional background vocals on this album. Dusty has also performed with and produced country recording artists Lucinda Williams, Jim Lauderdale and Rosie Flores, as well as producing an album by renowned country music producer Pete Anderson, the producer of Dwight Yoakam's albums, as well as others.

Some of the other musicians that performed on this album include Scott Joss, who played Fiddle and Mandolin. Scott is a member of Dwight Yoakam's band and he has also played with country music legend Merle Haggard. Lee Thornburg played trumpet on one song on this album. Lee has played with such legends as The Tower of Power, The Rolling Stones and Dwight Yoakam. Skip Edwards played Keyboards and Accordian on this album. Skip currently plays in Dwight Yoakam's band, and he has also played for Johnny Rivers and The Flying Burrito Brothers. Marty Rifkin played Steel Guitar on this album. Marty has played with Dwight Yoakam, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, among others.

The song "You Drive Me Crazy" was included in the soundtrack of the Paramount movie entitled "Deterrence" starring Timothy Hutton and Kevin Pollack.

This band is awesome!
My kids and I love this CD. We listen to it in the car whenever we take long trips. If what I have read is true, shame on you Rainy Day Records! This band was the last of the "original" bands left. I remember talking to the lead singer and he always refused to play the more popular 'Top 40' songs. And I don't blame them one bit. To the band, I hope that you make a huge comeback and I will always be a fan, no matter what name you go by. Love ya guys.

Why isn't this band HUGE?!!Awsome songs!!
I love the cd,but the above biography only talks about
the people who helped make the record. What about the band?
Who cares if the piano player played with Dwight Yoakum.I heard the band never got paid for their song being in that
movie mentioned above.

Great new country as it should be
This is together with the cd of BRIAN LYNN JONES AND THE MISFIT COWBOYS my best country cd's I brought the last 2 years. I can't hardly wait till there will be a new cd from Billy Tulsa and the Psycho Crawdads: Tennessee Rain.

Come to Holland Europe and I will be there!!!!!

turn off the Country stations and turn on that CD
You may just as well turn off the country stations and turn on that CD player in your car, because we both know you are NOT going to hear the country music you grew up with on those stations anymore. No sir, the glitz replaced the internal songs that come from feeling it(along with the pressure for the performers to produce).
But Now there is one of those country albums you can take to that desserted island -everyone talks about- as one of your treasured possesions you can't live without.
The album Tennessee Rain by Billy Tulsa and the Psycho Crawdads is this CD. Listen once and the flash of what should be on the radio will take you to the place you spin the dial hoping to find. You will not regret the investment of your time to check them out.(even better playn' live!)
