Album Notes
Tumbao Inc. was a short-lived project band and recording idea of producer Gerardo Brizuela in Toronto, Canada. Only one full length CD was ever recorded, and never received much promotion nor radio play due to one of its lead singers (and co-writer of select songs) departed from the band within weeks of the CD release. Though the album never received much fanfare, those few who heard it complimented its innovative approach to arrangements and usage of non-traditional elements in the recordings. where seamless interjection of live instruments and extensive sampling left the listeners unable to distinguish between what was a real instrument and what wasn't. Tumbao Inc Merengue Club Vol 1, was recorded in New Jersey and in Toronto, mixed and mastered in New York City in Spring/Summer 2005. All vocals were extensively tuned and processed, and there are several tracks in the album where not one live instrument was recorded, instead, relying upon computer generated instruments and samples.
