Album Notes
Simmered slowly over the back burner in a cosmopolitan bedroom community,
the 2nd album from “Twilight Archive” arouses the senses for curious music lovers. Steeped with mystery and an absorbing air, these new compositions combine nu-jazz elements with an established down-tempo base.

Two esteemed guests for this collaboration join founding members Chris Mancinelli and Tom Vedvik. On trumpet/flugelhorn is John Fumo with Alex Machacek on guitars. They are the ideal unifying components for the ever-evolving experience of “Twilight Archive”.

The rhythmic fuel continues to smolder beneath the sultry surface. Deep and hypnotic grooves propel the hip melodic motifs that guide the listener through sophisticated resonant soundscapes. The atmosphere is inviting yet still enigmatic. Timeless and thoroughly modern, these tracks are as fresh as they are familiar. This is tomorrow’s sound establishing a new trend today.

Infused at the core with an aura of cool, the group relentlessly strives to inject cutting edge concepts into a developing genre. Always evocative and blending organic electronica with innovative musicianship, "Ritual Fiction" delivers a new hybrid to the music world.

The ambience remains in the moment between darkness and light. A portal firmly embedded in the lingering pre-dawn, it just might be the alarm clock to your restless slumber.

New Music from Twighlight Archive
Pulsating layers of sound, hypnotic grooves, an occasional muted horn line or female voice wafting through to give it all warmth, what's not to enjoy? Instead of sounding anonymous and soul-less as some instrumental music can, these tracks allow the listener to create his or her own personal soundtrack. Excellent.

Twilight Archive
This will join my Acid Jazz playlist with Exodus Quartet. It's a little quieter but just as smooth and alive.

awesome album
I'm buying A LOT of CD's but it's rare that a new album gives me goose bumps like Ritual Fiction does. Ever since I received the CD I played it over and over. I simply love its sheer beauty and crisp production! I can't wait for a next Twilight Archive release!

Twilight Archive is a group of remarkable musicians. The idea inspirers of this project are Chris Mancinelli (bass, drums, percussives, pianos, synthesizers, samplers, programming, hi-hat) and Tom Vedvik (keyboards, sampling, sonic textures, bass). Two artists joined them on their “Ritual Fiction” album. These are John Fumo (trumpets and flugelhorn) and Alex Machacek (guitars). The group masterfully combines nu jazz grooves with a down-tempo ambient environment.

One can hear the firm electronic sounds of Tom Vedvik. His participation recalls the other projects of this talented artist. I’d like to mention “Slowdiver” and “Sutra Spin” albums above all. And on the other hand the sound of the new Twilight Arvhive’s album is very particular. Its music is pierced by the grooves of huge megapolises in which you can completely lose yourself.

“Ritual Fiction” is the music of a lone person surviving in a hectic city. It builds up the images of night motor highways and shining showcases among the dark cases of sleeping houses. And at the same time the newest Twilight Archive’s album provokes the listener’s inspiration. This is a truly outstanding project of beyond the borders cosmopolitan music.
