ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
“So you wanna be a star, baby. Let ‘em all know who you are. When the lights are flashin' on your silver limousine, don't let ‘em steal your soul. Why'd ya hide behind your scars, baby? They ain't really who you are. Now the waves are crashin’ down around your broken dreams, who's gonna light your way? Peace & Love & Rock & Roll. It's the only way to go. It's good for your heart, it's good for your soul. Peace & Love & Rock & Roll.”

A labor of love or crime of passion? Twin Flames Radio synthesizes the frenzied dedication of heavy rock and rolling ardor. The spirit of this project inherently works to dispel the critical cliché that rock as we have known it is “dead”, but rather with it’s creation proves the capacity of the genre to ever shift into new spaces of elevated meaning and depth of muse. Within the sonic landscape of Twin Flames Radio, the ’90s angst alt grunge wave has been merged with 60’s R&B/soul, 70’s glam and 80’s punk/power-pop to create something new; at once classic and pioneering, it remains all about Peace & Love & Rock & Roll.

Our paths first crossed in 1999 when I mixed for Bam & Share, their incredible indie modern rock debut LP, Bubble’s “How Bout This?” I knew of their successful past – Bam was an original member and drummer of the Dogs D’Amour and Share, was/is the bassist for the 80’s heavy metal powerhouse Vixen. Now they’ve exploded beyond what I ever could have imagined, and the rebirth is offered to the world in the form of Twin Flames Radio.

This debut album and new chapter of their storied lives is a precious Frankenstein demon baby. Twin Flames Radio is music that had to be both nurtured and exorcised, taken from all kinds of different bodies and body parts that have been locked in cryogenic glaciers, thawed by the heat of tube amps and fuzz pedals, and sewn together into the modulations of celestial intervention.

The songwriting is tinged with classic tin-pan alley and old Hollywood strong - this is where it diverges from the origins of their previous bands. This also kept our two mad scientist saints from releasing it into the world before Twin Flames Radio was fully formed. But the time has come and it will become clear once it has hooked into your veins that this is exactly what the world needs now.

As legend has it, Bam & Share’s house was struck by lightning last year before all of the tracks and vocals were cut. I keep asking them if they’ve noticed any other super powers emerging beyond their singing and songwriting that they might be able to lend to humankind to help silence the villains and fix this fucked up crazy world we’re living in? But they stay sly with a gleam in their eyes and for now it seems that the release of Twin Flames Radio is their noble effort to change the world with the genesis of music. After all, it was a lightning bolt that animated Frankenstein.

The combustion of vocal prowess merged with the dynamic range of historic musical inspiration that is honored on this record sprung from their backgrounds of USA and UK rock and roll, pop and counter culture music that they have devoured throughout their lives, it all works together to actualize something truly extraordinary. Bam and Share have always been and always will be as good of songwriters as I’ve ever known. The singing on this record, however, has reached the stratosphere of rock and roll superstardom.

As soon as you drop the needle in the groove, you’ll be propelled sound-first into a bountifully wild, colorful and divine rock ‘n’ roll circus ride. Prepare to be bewitched and transformed by a trip to a time filled with mystic heartache, hope and rebirth, leaving you filled with the conviction that Peace & Love & Rock & Roll is absolutely the only way to go.
