Album Notes
One of the highlights of a visit to beautiful San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico is a chance encounter with a unique musical quartet known to the locals as THE TWINS: four brothers, an uncle, a father, and two sons create a one of a kind sound. Not your father's mariachi band, but more Gypsy Kings!

A favorite memory will always be the day we first met The Twins. Leaving one of San Carlos' fine eateries, an impossibly small car pulled up and out popped four guys, two guitars , percussion, and a stand up bass! They played an extraordinary assortment of songs and we sang along in the parking lot for hours. From that point, Bobby and I were hooked. We dare you to try to keep you feet from tapping. In fact, I'll bet you get right up and dance all over the room.

These guys are the bomb!

SAN CARLOS, SONORA, MEXICO- Leslie Sahlen's Gatorlegs Music of Tucson, Arizona has been retained by The Bio-Res-Med Medical Arts Center of San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico, to provide recording and promotion to native and resident artists in the San Carlos area as part of an ongoing SOUNDS OF SAN CARLOS COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT SERIES.

"Dr. David Walker, Founder and Executive Director of Bio-Res-Med and I both believe the universal language of music has healing abilities." explains Ms. Sahlen. "My husband is a songwriter so we record song demos in our home. Word got out in our village and some amazing musicians started literally knocking on my door. I became a reluctant one woman record company."

Limited edition CDs have been recorded by Christian composer-pianist, Christie Forester ( ; Los Cuates, "The Twins", a unique Latin acoustic quartet consisting of two twin brothers and two look-a-like sons. ( ) Further, these recorded products are distributed digitally and online by Gatorlegs Music (, allowing these gifted musical artists to reach a wider audience.

Ms. Sahlen, herself, resides in the seaside village of San Carlos receiving treatment for health problems she believes are the result of silicone breast implants in the 1970s. The disabling fatigue, pain and high medical costs forced the sale of her thriving lecture agency in Dallas, Texas in the late 1980s. "The silicone brain fog was tragic in a business where the spoken word is so integral.", Ms. Sahlen explained.

For years she managed to work part-time at Austin's Paramount Theater, then later with Las Vegas agent, Sal Murillo, and 1960s rock diva, Spanky McFarlane . Even part time became physically impossible so Ms. Sahlen retired to Mexico where medical care is less costly.

After the destruction of Hurricane Marty, Ms. Sahlen produced the SAN CARLOS 1960'S MUSIC FESTIVAL in December 2003 ( to benefit the non-profit San Carlos emergency medical service, RESCATE (

Gatorlegs titles are available online through indie sites and Future releases will include 12 Year old Mexican vocalist, Honey, classical guitarist Ramon, the Children's Chorus of Casa de la Cultura of Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico and Best of the 2003 San Carlos 1960s Music Festival featuring Chris Montez. Fun CD. Great Live
We were in San Carlos a few years ago during the holidays. Going out to eat with a big family ending up in the place The Twins were playing that night. Everyone else in the place was part of an elder hostel program... we were a bit more rowdy than the rest in there and The Twins hung out near our table. It was a blast. Great guys. Fun CD.

Uplifting CD
Though some recordings may have a slight 'amateur-feeling', as a whole this CD works very well if you need to brighten up your day. I just love track 11, for some reason this is the song in which the four 'twins' blend together in a magic way. One strange fact remains: on the CD Baby site this number is called 'Asi Es La Vida', while the inlay of my CD calls it 'Que Me Traigan Mas Botelias'. Well, we can't have it all and it's the music that counts, isn't it? I like the CD very much and I think it's a must have for people who just want music to be fun.
