Album Notes
Terry's first electric guitar was given to him at the age of eleven years old. He taught himself to play and began his music career by joining a band with his two older brothers and a cousin. By the time he reached junior high school, Terry was well experienced in R&B styles. He joined the 'Freedman High School Band' for four years and his music abilities were further taught by band director, Marvin Davenport. During those years, Terry learned music theory, technique, and played the trumpet and later switched to the saxophone. During the years, Terry played different instruments in numerous bands, performing in a variety of clubs and on college campuses across North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. He also performed with the 'Caldwell Community Band' which played at the 'World's Fair', for five years. Terry played for the 'Foothills Performing Arts Theater' in plays such as 'Purlie', 'Rasin' and 'The Wiz'. For his performance as music director for 'The Wiz', for which he performed and rearranged all the music, Terry won the cherished 'Willy Award'. Residing, with his wife, Gail, in North Carolina,Terry writes, records, and produces music in his home studio, where he developed his technique on the sax, rhythm, bass guitar, keyboard, and drums.
