Album Notes
Enter the Atmosph-Mire is the debut album of the Tyler Mire Big Band. The compositions and arrangements by band leader, Tyler Mire, are brought to life by an impressive group of young professional jazz musicians from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Each player presents a unique musical character and at the same time, they sync as a tight ensemble. More distinctly, they are all friends, and this is where Mire's music transcends the notes on the page.

The arrangement of the Mancini standard, "Days of Wine and Roses," features guitarist Alex Cannon's melodic improvisation. The high energy tenor battle, "Chris is How We Drew It," was composed for two guys who fit the bill, Chris Reardon and Drew Zaremba. In the emotional ballad, “Eternal Healing”, Tyler employs the beautiful sound of the bassoon, played by Kelsey Pickford. Jobim's classic, "The Girl from Ipanema," is arranged as a samba to feature the tight- knit trombone section. Justin Heaverin's tasteful and whimsical brush playing is showcased in "Brush It Off."

In this maiden voyage as a big band leader, Tyler Mire shows his versatility as a composer, arranger, and as a lead trumpeter (on a few tracks). Enter the Atmosph-Mire covers a wide palette of styles, from swing to hip hop, rock and samba. The phenomenal players on this album wear every hat, and the listener gets to know each of them as Tyler does.
