Album Notes
Jill’s love of music started at a very young age when she began playing the guitar at 9 and songwriting at 11. When her Uncle played her a live version of Joni Mitchell singing ‘A Case of You’ she thought it was the most amazing thing and became a huge fan.

At 15, Jill joined a country band called Jacksonville. By this time her influences were Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris and Shawn Colvin. By 18 years old she was doing more solo gigs, concentrating on songwriting and had the pleasure of supporting Roger McGuinn from The Byrds.

Jill Jackson burst on to the music scene back in 2003 as front woman of Scottish fourpiece 'Speedway'. Having enjoyed chart success with their debut single, double A-side 'Genie In A Bottle / Save Yourself' flying straight into the Top 10 followed by two further hits 'Can't Turn Back' & 'In & Out'. Gigging relentlessly through 2003/04 with numerous festival appearances and tours, including the Bryan Adams tour.

“When Speedway came to an end I decided to go back to my roots and play the kind of music that I love- Dolly Parton, Shelby Lynne, the Stones, Buddy Holly, Chet Atkins (one of my favourite guitarists!) and Joni Mitchell. I just wanted to strip the whole sound back and perform some new music.”

Jill recorded an acoustic album at the beginning of 2006 and did an extensive 30-night tour supporting Nashville singer/songwriter Kevin Montgomery whose band included the legend that is Al Perkins, who performed with Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris.

Having spent the latter part of 2006 in Nashville where she performed at the legendary Bluebird Café, Jill is now in the completing stages of writing material for her new album which she’ll record back in Nashville.

Fantastic journey!
I loved it! Great voice, writing and melodies. It took me on a journey, like a nice relaxing vacation. I will recomend this to anyone who likes any type of music......just don't see how anyone could find fault at all in this CD.

Jill's solo album is brillant.
Jill's solo album is brilliant, every track has a story to tell. She is such a talented songwriter and has an amazing voice. Her style is unique.

Great CD.
I liked the CD - thought it was brilliant.
I used to see Jill live in Livingston when she the band was Jacksonville - knew even then that she would go places. Well done Jill.

Can't remebmer when and why I landed on her Myspace-profile but as I heard the song "Lullaby" I immediately thought "I have to have this cd"
I really listen to a lot of music but most of the time I don't like every song on an album...most of the time. But this album is worth listening from "All of the colours" to "Lullaby" straight through and again.
It's more Country & Folk style then Rock with Speedway but her unique style gives each song a little something that makes it special. And her voice fits her guitar perfectly.

Jill, it's your time!
Jill always manages to "as she puts it, turn herself inside out". Her songs reach new levels. Her new 5 track is wonderful with two songs that I feel should be huge hits: Painted Faces and Forgive Me (which brings tears to my eyes and will reach every listener). I love you Jill and I am sure that you will get all the recognition that you deserve. And you truly have "The Most Beautiful Eyes".

Grand CD
finally managed to get hold of a copy through CDBABY. Was even better than I hoped, so much so have sent one to my friend for her birthday. Hopefully she will become a fan too

Just Beautiful
I saw Jill live in London recently when she supported Melanie C. Melanie has recorded a few of Jill's songs for her new album. Jill's voice made me want to cry it was so beautiful and perfect and her gifts as a songwriter are as brilliant as her voice.
I couldn't believe how hard it was to get hold of her recordings in the UK. Come on Melanie, sign her up to RedGirl Records before someone else does.
The strongest songs for me at least are What if I Stay and Don't Let me Go. But ALL of the songs are to Jill's very high standard and it is a definate MUST HAVE for anyone who likes a pure voice and acoustic guitar, completely unspoiled by over production in a studio.
Well done Jill and Adam, I will certainly be recommending this to all my friends and already have.
