Album Notes
John Ulrich is an amazing guitarist with over 23 years of experience under his belt. This 27 year old Montana native (Who now resides in Corvallis, Oregon) has been playing since about the age of four and has studied and listened to many artists including The Beatles, John Denver, Garth Brooks, John Williams, Beethoven, Pearl Jam, Pat Matheny, Damien Rice, Vivaldi, and his biggest influence to date, Dave Matthews. John plays a variety of instruments including the saxophone, harmonica, keyboard/piano, mandolin, guitar ( acoustic, electric, 12 string), and has an extensive knowledge of foot pedals and sound effects. John believes he, "Has the ability and talent of leading a group of musicians, and the audience, into deep emotional levels of music." He does this by building complex intricate compositions that are known for their space and dissonance. John's music is described to some as a mix between Dave Matthews and Jack Johnson.

The C.D. Xanadu was Recorded in Black Lab Studios in Spokane, WA with prodigy and sound engineer Joe Verella. The C.D. encompasses a large variety of songs to delve into many emotions of love, celebration, political insight, and spirituality.

Special guest musicians helping out in collaboration with the creation of the C.D. include Joe Verella (percussion/Piano) Patrick Pugh (Guitar FX), Jermaine Carlton (Saxophonist) Danielle Clark (Harp), Shane Taylor (Bass Guitar) Glen Phillips (Violin), Zoe Boyen (Cello), and Allison Kromer (Female Vocals).

This C.D. is just another stepping stone and measuring line to the playful beginnings of the John Ulrich Band. More information availiable at:

Damien Rice X 10. A million times I got the chills...
I have never wanted to write anything about music or movies or shit like that on here! I dont really care that other people know my shit! whatever BUT that has all changed! I want everyone and their fucking mom's to know about this guy! His name is John Ulrich! Ok...here's the story! I went camping with my family (katie, kurt, and jo-jo beany weany) and my new but awesome friend Dave. We went just up to the Columbia River on the 3rd, just for one night! Well, Dave and I were posted up on a little campfire by ourselves xxxxxxx, and drinkin. When all of a sudden out of the bushes comes this dude carrying his guitar and a pack of beer! He asked if he could join, and I xxxxxxxxxxxx:0) I told him I was from Long Beach and he said he had a song he wanted to sing for me. It was called "Lady In A Blue Dress On Long Beach". p.s. great song! And I just about pissed myself! He fucking took my breath away! BUT, right when he finished i realized i was about to "really" piss myself, so I said time-out and left! I came back with 7,000 logs for the fire and a mouthfull of words for John Ulrich. He was Damien Rice X 10. A million times I got the chills and he stole my breath. Me and my friend Dave sat there for about 4-5 hours...until the sun came up for sure;0)...just talking and listening to this amazing man! His spirit was pouring through his shit! It was so amazing! He has this James Blunt, Dave Matthews, (forget first name) Garcia?, mix! And his own twist to it is just insane! I must admit, him playing completely acoustic, just his strings and voice alone on the fucking edge of the Columbia River while sitting in front of a fire pit till morning could never be recorded~! ... He played songs he just made up that day or even that second! It was amazing! Listen to him ... And fucking make him famous like he should be!!!!
