Album Notes
The University of Missouri Jazz Studies Program, directed by Dr. Arthur White, is proud to release the fifth recording by its flagship ensemble, the Concert Jazz Band, entitled Open Window. This ensemble has received critical acclaim from allaboutjazz.com, JazzEd magazine, Jazz Ambassador Magazine, and other notable publications and websites. One of the rising college jazz ensembles in the country, the band has recorded with a veritable Who's Who in jazz: Mike Mainieri, Bobby Watson, Mike Metheny, Robin Eubanks, Byron Stripling, and Bob Sheppard. This year's CD, featuring strong compositions and arrangements by MU jazz students, also features the stellar performances of two important figures in modern jazz: Jimmy Greene and Sean Jones.
