Upstream, is a Caribbean base band. Formed on the Island of Trinidad & Tobago.in 1989.By two brothers, Haile & Dereck Blackman.Sons the legendary Calypsonian Lord Shorty AKA Ras' Shorty I. the Innovator of the musical Genre none as Soca' Music.
Having a love for Rock,growing up in an West Indian Environment,needed a space in which they could express themselves.
Packed up and moved to Sunny California where it felt like home, and the freedom to be themselves.
The music is mixture Reggae CalypsoRock Steel Drum, And a whole lot of fun!!
Band Members includes.John Mc Knight,Bass Keyboards Guitar Steels & Horns.Derek Brewster Steel Drums.Mark Spiller,Drums. Daniel Lopilato, Keys & Guitar. and Haile Blackman Lead Vocals and rhythm Guitar.
