ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Songs by Urinals/100 Flowers have been covered by Yo La Tengo, Minutemen, METZ, No Age, Leaving Trains, Ceremony, Gun Club, Grass Widow, Mika Miko...the list goes on and on. With NYAM, the band stays true to its uniquely spare approach to songwriting, while at the same time expanding its sonic palette. This is punk-rock that goes beyond the template.

“I have always felt a connection to the Urinals and their universe building. The songs sound like they were written by caveman astronomers discovering new territory. So much honesty and wonder conveyed with a crudeness that made all the subject matter completely accessible and without pretense. When paying attention to the lyrics, you can detect a deep intelligence amidst these songwriters, but all of the poetry of the Urinals is delivered through excellent punk rock sensibilities, producing some of my favorite songs of all time. Anyone who recognizes a good riff will love them instantly.”
- Hannah Lew, GRASS WIDOW, COLD BEAT

Produced by John Talley-Jones (100 Flowers, Angst, The Rub)
Recorded by Mike Martt (Thelonious Monster, Tex & the Horseheads, Funeral)
Mixed and Mastered by Andre Knecht (Robert Plant, Terry Riley)
