Thirteen Steps to Recovery

by Vaedratec®

Thirteen Steps to Recovery is a collection of 12 acoustic tracks telling the story of an unknown artist based in the heart of London. Painfully honest, the songs are at times accompanied by strings or a full band. Simply a beautiful and fragile album.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Please Note: This album is a CD-R and comes packaged in a pharmaceutical bag with the artist details shown.

Thirteen Steps to Recovery is an album based on the 12-step recovery program. Being British, I enjoy having a good drink but, as us Brits know, this can quickly degenerate into a legless stupor of sick, loneliness and misery.

We need a prescription to pick ourselves up; we need the 12 step program to make us carry on.

And this album is it. Taken from the artist’s real life journey, the album is an honest look at harm and recovery. Poignant, real-world issues such as domestic violence, sexuality and drugs are all explored from the artist’s own experiences and, unlike us British alcoholics; the picture painted is a sober one. If you asked about my journey you’d only hear about my hazy phone calls to Napoleon and, as far as I remember, he never did have any idea about the fleet off Portsmouth.

But what, you may ask, is the thirteenth step?

To find out go online (www.13steps.co.uk) and, while you’re there, check out some of the art work that goes hand in hand with the music.

Awesome
This album is absolutely brilliant. I heard about Dave Carter when he was playing live at the Astor. Bought this album and wasn't disappointed - some of the tracks on it are amazing.

A great album of acoustic britpop
A great album of acoustic britpop. Nice arrangements and some cool vocals. Standout tracks are Penpal, Silver, More and the albums centerpiece The Thirteenth Step. I'd recommend to any fans of Nick Drake or Damien Rice.

Amazing!
I love this sort of stuff that tells a story and gains depth with every listen. the guy has got a voice and a half, and the instrumentation is just awesome. I have never seen the live show but next time I am in the UK I am going to move heaven and earth to be there. Can't believe a major has not picked this up yet as it will sell on the wild side globally in my opinion.
