Album Notes
When my paternal grandmother, whom I affectionately dubbed “Monga,” passed away in 2001, she left me 1,000 bucks. Being an aspiring musician who was eager to break into the recording world, I decided to purchase a digital 8-track recorder with this inheritance. Aside from being a musician, acquiring such a product with my grandmother’s money made sense, having spent countless hours watching MTV in her living room after school in the ’90s. So, in 2002, I laid down some of my first musical compositions on this 8-track machine, which varied immensely in style—ranging from Reggae, an obsession of mine at the time, to straight rock n’ roll and acoustic arrangements. The Sunset Tapes—named after the location of my place of residence back then—are the humble result of this artistic endeavor, which began in my college bedroom and has graced several bedrooms since—even worldwide.

[All music performed/programmed by vagrant moon, except for "Go Tell" (percussion by Eric Darken) and "To the Sky" (drums by Greg Morrow).]
