Album Notes
The chants on this CD are sung from a deep meditative state. No pitch reference or accompaniment is used while Vandita chants. Music and harmonies are added after the chants have been sung. In the quiet cave like recording booth at Muddy Angel Music in Richmond, MA., Vandita meditates and allows the chants to come from a sweet and ethereal place. On track two, Hare Krishna, Linda Worster harmonizes and plays guitar while Mark Kelso accompanies on piano. Track one, the Teacher-Student prayer, is sung at the beginning of each session in the Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training program. Track three, Om Namah Shivaya Gurave, is a Sanskrit chant of surrender. This was a chant often sung by Swami Kripalu (Bapuji). So Ham-I am that I am on track four soothes the listener into deep relaxation as the affirmation resonates deeply within.
