The creative process for 'Wild & Free' began in the Christmas holidays of December 2016, when I wrote the first song 'Everything to Me'.
I soon penned 'Feels so Good' and 'Time to Let Loose' and started to get a feel for the direction the album was taking.
'Rainy Day' was written on a scorching day when I was craving a bit of reprieve from the harsh Australian summer. As I watched an amazing storm came through 'The Storm' was inspired.
I wrote 'Nothing to Give' in my hotel room in Pasadena in the USA when I discovered I was staying on Route 66. I challenged myself to write a song including the words 'Route 66' and 'Colorado Blvd', where my hotel was located.
The last song to be written was 'Live for Today', which I wrote to cheer myself up and it captured the essence of what was left to be said.
As always, Michael Barnard has delivered the most amazing accompaniment, and it has been a pleasure to play these with him.
I am so excited to have had the opportunity to work with producer Michael Carpenter. His passion and dedication to make these my best Country-Blues songs ever has been outstanding.
Thank you to the musicians who have contributed to the album and made every song sound amazing! Thank you to my family and friends for your continued support, to the radio presenters who have played my songs on their shows, and to the fans who buy my music. I appreciate you all and I feel so delighted to be sharing this album with you.
