ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Walking Blind is a pop album that represents the journey of finding ourselves through our experiences with love, pain & the in-between.

I guess I really am a lot like many of you. We all have seen, lived and been affected in some way by dysfunction. For some reason, a reason definitely out of my own control, music has always been my way out. My way away from the bad stuff that creeps our way from time to time in life. It helps me cope.

So, I guess it is not so surprising that Walking Blind is a very personal collection of songs that reflect my true reactions to various situations between ages 18 and 25. We tend to walk blindly through life, don’t we? From the time we are born we learn as we go, we learn from what’s around us, not truly knowing what is right or wrong – we simply follow our instincts and what we are taught and let the universe take us where it may…I could go on about this for a while…so I will stop now :)

This album was tracked, mixed, and produced at Karen Kane Music Productions. Mastered by Wreckhouse Mastering. Featuring: Taylor Lee, Bass; Nicole Mancini, Violin; Dylan Linehan, Piano; Luke Wilson, Drums; Michael Buckley, Guitar; Danny “Louis.” Thomas, Emcee/Lyricist on “Courage”

My bio:
Vanessa was born in West Islip, NY, where she lived until the age of ten (10) years old. As a child, she was passionate about music, especially the pop genre, and would frequently sing to anyone who would listen. Her family moved to Duplin County, North Carolina, and has resided there ever since. As a teen, Vanessa struggled through the common hurdles which all teens face: breakups, conflicts with friends, and crushes. Vanessa turned to a small keyboard her grandmother bought her, and an electric guitar she received as a gift. She learned how to play the instruments mainly by ear She also played the flute in the concert band in high school. Vanessa has been writing songs ever since those teen days, and continues to write about love, pain, and the in-between. She attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington and received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Music (voice) and also a Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication Studies. During her undergrad, she performed as a lead singer in various cover/original bands, led church services, and sang at funerals and weddings. Currently, Vanessa resides in Wilmington, NC and is pursuing her music career with full force. The release of Walking Blind is projected to be a game-changer! In addition, she frequently collaborates with other musicians to create original music which exhibits the realness of life and her emotions, and dreams to write songs in which people can connect and relate.
